It’s now official: the Canadian men’s 4 x 100 meter relay team at the last Tokyo Olympics is a silver medalist. The International Olympic Committee has indeed approved the update of the results, made necessary after the disqualification of the British sprinter Chijindu Ujah for doping.

Already, last February, the Court of Arbitration for Sport had suggested that Canada would be awarded silver rather than bronze. Italy won the race, ahead of the British in Tokyo.

Andre De Grasse, already the holder of six career Olympic decorations, now officially finds himself with a list of awards including one gold, two silver and three bronze. In addition to climbing the podium in the relay, along with Jerome Blake, Aaron Brown and Brendon Rodney, De Grasse won gold in the 200m and silver in the 100m in Tokyo.
