Auger-Aliassime, seeded ninth, will begin his journey next week against a player from the qualifications. However, he finds himself in the same portion of the table as the master on clay Rafael Nadal, whom he could face in the round of 16. The Spaniard has won the French event 13 times.

Novak Djokovic could also find himself on the road to “FAA” or Nadal in the quarter. The defending champion will start against the Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka.

On the other side of the table, the Canadian Denis Shapovalov (14th) will battle the Dane Holger Rune (40th racket in the world) in the first round. The Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, seeded number 4, could be in his paws in the round of 16.

On the women’s side, Fernandez (17th) will cross swords with one of the local favorites, Kristina Mladenovic (110th). If she manages to advance to the third round, it is her fellow Canadian Bianca Andreescu that she could brave. The latter fell to No. 72 in the WTA rankings due to injuries, but came back strong in April. A qualified player awaits him in the first round.

Ontarian Rebecca Marino still has a chance to reach the main draw, she will have to win her third qualifying match on Friday against Australian Seone Mendez.

The main portion of the Roland-Garros tournament will begin on Sunday and conclude on Saturday June 4 with the women’s final and the following day with the men’s final.
