It was in the already distant 2019 when the last edition without restrictions of the Pride could be celebrated! Barcelona, since then the incidence of the pandemic affected this, already traditional, celebration in Barcelona. After the relaxation of the sanitary measures, the event will return to the Catalan capital once again, between June 13 and 26. After months of preparation, this Wednesday more information has been detailed during the presentation of this year’s edition that will be dedicated to giving greater visibility to lesbian women.
“This 2022 edition will be like in the years before the pandemic. An event of protest, celebration and visibility.
We want to recover all these spaces that have traditionally been part of the Pride! Barcelona”, highlighted Ferran Poca, president of the Organizing Committee of the event.
The ambition of the organizers is to recover the attendance figures of the year 2019, where the record of 400,000 attendees was reached, making it the largest event of this type in the entire Mediterranean. In addition, 100,000 people participated in the demonstrations and more than 100 events were organized that generated an economic impact in Barcelona of around 70 million euros.
“There will be two weeks of celebration and organization of different events, where cultural and social activities, conferences and workshops will stand out,” said Poca. The main stage of the celebration will be Avenida María Cristina, the usual space for past editions. As for the most vindictive aspect, the LGTBIQ Pride demonstration is scheduled for June 25, which will take place along Avenida del Paralelo.
Some of the most outstanding activities of the celebration are:
– June 16: Think Plus Lesbian Visibility
– June 18: Vermouth Trans *
– June 22: Proclamation of Pride by Dulceida
– June 23: LGTBIQ Verbena in Gaixample
– June 24 and 25: Village and concerts on Avenida María Cristina
– June 25 Manifestation of Pride on Avenida del Paralelo
– June 26: Pride in Tibidabo
