The Government of Castilla-La Mancha starts this Thursday the so-called ‘Fénix Project’ to undertake technological renovation in its health service (Sescam), and with a budget of 6.1 million euros, it faces the replacement of 90 % of computer equipment currently used by health professionals -more than 12,000-, both Primary Care and Hospital.
The development of this project aims to put an end to technological obsolescence and the deployment of equipment that incorporates tools, such as a video camera, which will allow professionals to carry out their work in new ways -teleconsultation, video consultation or videoconference-. In addition, image quality will be favored for telemedicine projects, with 24-inch monitors.
The president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, has made reference to this extreme from a public act in Cuenca.
“State-of-the-art equipment is going to be installed,” said García-Page, celebrating that they are “basic tools.”
In this context, García-Page has advocated increasing health spending at the national level to 7% of GDP.
He also pointed out that spending on pharmacy rises to 3 million euros per day in the autonomous community, most of it in the hospital section, emphasizing the need to centralize purchases.
Thus, it has highlighted that in Castilla-La Mancha they have exceeded 100 million euros for oncology pharmacy spending for the first time. “It is convenient to reason and reach practical agreements,” suggested the leader of the Castilian-Manchego Executive.
