Madrid architects have elected dean for the next three years: Sigfrido Herráez, the person who currently holds that position, repeats as head of the Madrid Official College of Architects. His candidacy has achieved 42.4 percent of the votes cast by the members.
In total, it has been done with 939 votes, of the total of 2,216 that have participated in these elections. This figure represents a 20 percent higher participation than in previous years.
Four candidates competed for the position of dean: Jaime López-Amor Herrero (Re HumanA), Sigfrido Herráez (Todos COAM), Jesús San Vicente (NEXO) and Vega Méndez-Navia (A4C).
Nexo COAM’s candidacy has received 562 votes, ranking second with the most support.
HumanA Renewal obtained 437 votes, and the one presented by A4C obtained 203 supports.
Of the total votes, 1,995 were cast electronically, and 221 in person.
The new Governing Board, which will lead the COAM for the next three years, is made up of: Dean Sigfrido Herráez, Vice Dean Pablo Olalquiaga, Secretary María Eugenia del Río, Treasurer Pilar Pérez de la Cuadra, members Fernando Landecho, Ángel Hernández, Eugenio Lozano, Ramón Andrada and Enrique Francisco Manzano, and as alternates Almudena Espinosa, Javier Revillo, Andrea Sabugo, Eladio Rodríguez and José Ismael de la Barba.
In addition, the members of the Board of Representatives, the ‘parliament’ of COAM, were also voted for, for which there were eight candidates: the one headed by Herráez obtained 511 votes and 24 percent of the total, followed by Nexo COAM with 486 votes ( 23 percent), New COAM with 267 votes (12 percent), humanA with 249 votes, 12 percent, COAM Renewal with 194 votes, 9 percent, A4C 181 votes, 8 percent, ADN COAM 142 votes, 7 percent, and PROCOAM, 73 votes (3 percent).
