On Saturday, the Tour of Norway saw Remco Evenepoel (Quickstep), win his third stage victory in sprint. He remains the Tour of Norway’s leader at the end of the race. He beat Lucas Plapp and Tobias Johannessen in the final 182km between Flekkefjord & Sandnes.
The race was marked with the breakaway of Ben Healy, a young Irishman (21), who led for nearly 50 kilometers despite strong headwind. After a thrilling stage that kept the stage alive, the rider from EF Education-EasyPost was finally caught just a few meters before it ended.
Evenepoel is already a winner of the first and second stages. He leads the general classification Jay Vine by 56 seconds and Lucas Plapp 1 min 30 sec.
Sunday’s 6th and Final Stage will be a 145km loop around Stavanger, with two challenges: Undheim climb and “Grisebakken”.
