Of these sixteen cases of patients having been diagnosed with monkeypox, twelve were reported in Ile-de-France, one in Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, two in Occitanie and one in Normandy, according to figures from Public Health France.
According to Brigitte Bourguignon, the Minister of Health, the previous report contained seven cases that were “proven”. Public Health France has announced an update to the balance sheet for Monday.
Brigitte Bourguignon stated that authorities didn’t expect an “outbreak”, and that there were enough vaccines in the country to treat people who are already in contact.
Friday’s announcement by the Directorate General of Health stated that the two first people who were suspected to have been in contact with a monkeypox victim had been vaccinated at Paris’ Bichat hospital.
The Tuesday opinion of the High Authority for Health recommended that adults and health professionals who had been in contact with patients be vaccinated. Monkeypox, also known as monkeypox, is a rare disease that has been reported in humans since 1970.
