After the Russian Gazprom has announced today that it is cutting off the gas tap to Denmark and to Shell Germany, the possibilities of the dreaded “blackout” are much closer to reality, since a good part of the electricity in German territory is made from Of gas. The German Ministry of the Interior, through its Civil Protection service, advises the population to store food and water for ten days in seven simple steps:

1- The minimum period you have to count on is 10 days, from then on you can trust that the authorities can react and help is ready.

2- You have to calculate the need for two liters of drinking water and 2,200 kilocalories per person per day.

For a minimum supply of ten days, about 20 liters of water per person would be necessary.

3- It is not advisable to stock up on large quantities of a single product, but rather on smaller quantities of a variety of products that must share an expiration date as far away as possible.

4- It is not advisable to make the entire purchase at once, a hoarding attitude that can cause shortages in the store, but to add an additional package or two to the daily purchase and gradually add supplies.

5- Provisions should not be stored and forgotten, but replenished periodically, so it is convenient to consume the oldest ones as the most recent ones are purchased.

6- It is necessary to observe the storage recommendations of each manufacturer to ensure that the food will have been properly preserved and will be available when it is needed.

7- Do not forget the pets.
