CF Talavera, a club that has not been able to maintain the category in the RFEF First Division, announced this Thursday that Manuel Mosquera will no longer be linked to the entity as coach. “The club wants to thank the first team coach for his work and dedication up to now as head of the bench and wishes him the best of luck in his future sporting projects,” he said in his statement. End of a ‘black’ season for a coach who began the course with Extremadura, a team that left the league at the start of the second round due to financial problems, and has ended up being relegated to Talavera. Two blows to which he now joins his departure from the club

Manuel Mosquera (La Coruña, 53 years old) began the season directing Extremadura, a club that until its expulsion from the league due to two forfeits, played in the same category (First RFEF) as Talavera, although in a different group.

After the dismissal of Víctor Cea, the Toledo entity turned to the former coach of the Almendralejo team as coach in the hope of saving the category. A goal that he has finally been unable to achieve. Neither continue in the entity. “CF Talavera and Manuel Mosquera have decided, by mutual agreement, not to continue the contractual relationship that linked both parties,” the club announced this Thursday.

Mosquera was able to train two teams of the same category in the same season thanks to a regulatory modification of the Federation, approved in 2020 by the CSD. Then it was authorized that a coach can direct, although only in some cases, two teams during the same course, a possibility that was vetoed for many years.

After the approval of this regulatory modification, if in the course of a season a club withdraws by its own decision or by resolution of the competent body, implying, in one case or another, its disappearance, the technicians can carry out their function in another team as long as and when they had not fully received, or had not been guaranteed, the emoluments agreed in their contract.
