In the three years since 2020, the city of Potsdam has imposed fines totaling almost 246,000 euros for violations of the Corona regulations. This sum results from around 2,100 procedures that have not yet been completed, the Ministry of Health in Potsdam said in response to a request from the CDU state parliamentary group.

1,175 proceedings came from 2020, in which fines totaling 152,300 euros were issued. In the following year there were 848 proceedings with fines totaling 87,230 euros. In the last reporting year there were only 75 proceedings with fines totaling 6,145 euros.

Since the regulations for Corona containment were gradually expanded, 2021 had the most extensive catalog of offenses with 21 points. In the previous year there were 19 elements of the crime, in 2023 there will only be eight. The most frequently cited violations of the mask requirement at public events, meetings and in restaurants, as well as the minimum distance in public spaces.

The state government does not have a precise overview of the administrative offenses and fines for violations of Corona requirements throughout Brandenburg, as the Ministry of Health admitted. At the end of May, the authority announced that there were around 14,150 reports and almost 11,300 procedures. However, some independent cities and districts only provided incomplete information due to the excessive amount of work involved.
