Consentidos already has artists confirmed. Alex Ferreira and Miguel Campello, Natalia Lacunza and Jeunet Brown, as well as Valeria
Castro will perform in the capital during this third edition of the festival, which will take place from June 30 through July 23. Jose Manuel Higueras, the Councilor for Culture, Tourism and Heritage, announced this yesterday at an event that took place prior to Leon Benavente’s concert at the Infanta Leonor Theatre, which opened the series.
Higueras stressed the importance of a project that revolves about artists who are willing to “come to a very precise concept, in which a complete event is experienced of which music is a piece” and in which gastronomy is, with Jaen’s candidacy as UNESCO Creative City, one of the keys. This includes specific culinary creations along with the promotion local talent.
Jaen provides the ideal setting for concerts. This is why venues like the Caseria de Jesus and Alto del Tomillo, as well as the Cathedral and Castillo de Santa Catalina are known. To make the experience even more memorable and unforgettable, guests are invited to play a game that will let them discover where they are going. They will not know the exact location until the end.
Higueras highlighted the collaboration between the sponsors of the proposal such as the Provincial Council and Caja Rural. He also said that the idea is a “choral” idea where all municipal areas collaborate. He also recalled that Jaen was convinced that a series of unpublished, modern concerts was needed to allow him to enjoy top-rate artists. He said, “The people who visit and their environment are very important to me.”
Representatives from the local hotel industry, sponsors, neighborhood groups, business associations, and councilors of Youth Eva Funes and Environment, Maria del Carmen Angulo and Javier Padorno, the mayor of Urban Maintenance attended the presentation.
It will be Volante de la Puebla’s turn on June 30, and Mestiza’s. Esteban Garrido is Paco Mora, Volante de la Puebla. Their proposal combines traditional and popular songs from Spanish folklore with electronic musical elements. Mestiza is a duo which fuses flamenco and Arabic music with electronic rhythms.
Alex Ferreira, a singer, songwriter, sound engineer, and independent pop/rock musician from Dominican descent, will perform on July 8. Miguel Campello, the voice of El Bicho in his day, will be presenting his fifth album, “5”, on July 16th in Jaen. Carmen Xia, a coplera rapper, will also be performing that day.
Natalia Lacunza, a Jaen experimental musician and composer, will be arriving on July 22 with ‘It must be for me’ and Jeunet brown.
The cycle will end on July 23rd. Valeria Castro, Canary Islands, is a promising young talent who will release her first EP, “Chiquita”.
