Spain finishes with a silver medal in women’s Formula Kite, led by Gisela Pulido, at the Allianz Regatta, the second round of the Hempel World Cup, the sailing World Cup organized by World Sailing.
The Catalan sailor reached the last day with a direct pass to the grand final thanks to her second place in the general classification, after coming back from a week in which she has gone from less to more.
In the last round, played between the four best sailors in the championship, the Dutch Annelous Lammerts started with two wins on her scoreboard and Pulido with one. The final triumph would be for the first to add three first. Lammerts won the game and Pulido earned a well-deserved silver after overcoming some difficult first days due to being ill the two weeks prior to the competition.
In the men’s category, Alejandro Climent obtained the pass to the semifinals with 14th place overall. Disputed in two groups, the winner of each of them would go on to compete in the grand final four. Climent added two fourth places to finish in tenth position overall.
Adelaida Marquenie, second female in competition in this class, was 15th, and the same position for Bernat Cortés in male.
The next appointment for the class will be the Formula Kite
Spain has also had participation in the Allianz Regatta in Nacra 17 with Iset Segura and Marcos Fernández who have finished in 9th place overall, and Martina Reino in ILCA6 who has been 18th. Both classes finished their series of regattas yesterday, Saturday.
