The Ponferradina Sports Society celebrated its centenary on Tuesday with a program of events in which the offering to the Virgen de la Encina and the mass officiated by the Bishop of Astorga, Jesús Fernández, on the pitch of the Toralín stadium stand out. Beforehand, the president of the blue and white team, José Fernández Nieto, presented the centenary commemorative stamp, with the corresponding postmark, and unveiled a plaque to commemorate the first century of existence of the main football club in the Bierzo region.

The acts were counted in the presence of local authorities, such as the mayor of Ponferrada, Olegario Ramón, the president of the Municipal Council of Bierzo, Gerardo Álvarez Courel, the president of the Diputación de León, Eduardo Morán.

Looking ahead to the afternoon, a large fan zone will open in the outskirts of the stadium, with games and activities for children and adults, which will conclude with the release of balloons with various prizes. At the last minute, the celebration will move inside the stadium, where subscribers and fans who have withdrawn their invitation will be able to enjoy a popular meal.
