Ofimovil Palencia’, a mobile banking office launched by the Provincial Council and CaixaBank, as a pilot project, has begun to tour the province with the aim of avoiding financial exclusion through 18 routes that will reach a total of 68 towns and It will travel 2,5000 kilometers.

In most cases, these localities do not have other branches, ATMs, or financial agents, which forced the inhabitants to travel to be able to have cash or carry out other operations in their accounts.

With this initiative, more than 30,000 people from Palencia will have a face-to-face service, at least once a month, in their own town.

The service has a mobile office attended by a CaixaBank employee and equipped with an ATM to carry out the most common operations such as withdrawing cash, making deposits and paying bills and taxes, regardless of whether they are customers or not. of this entity.

These routes plan to cover each of these 68 municipalities at least once a month and given their capillarity, geographically they cover the entire province.

For now, the route plan is undergoing testing and adaptation to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness of the service.

In these first days of operation, numerous residents have come to find out about the procedures they can carry out and to carry out their financial activities, and the publicity of the presence of the bus is being carried out in collaboration with the town councils that make up each of the routes.

The objective is to provide the greatest stability to this service, so that the residents know which day of the month the stop will correspond to them in their municipality. This service is operational from 08:00 to 17:15 from Monday to Thursday and on Fridays from 08:00 to 14:30.

This is a pilot program undertaken by the Provincial Council of Palencia to fight against financial exclusion. From the Institution they remember that they consider these services essential, putting special interest in face-to-face care for the elderly population.

For programs against financial exclusion, the Provincial Council has earmarked 250,000 euros this year.
