A 17-year-old was seriously injured in an accident between a moped and a car in Werlte in the Emsland district. The young man was riding his moped in the community of Lorup on Thursday evening, and an 18-year-old was driving a car behind him, the police said on Friday. The driver probably didn’t notice the 17-year-old in time – and rear-ended him. The teenager was thrown from his two-wheeler and seriously injured. The 18-year-old’s car overturned and the driver suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to the hospital.
