A fatal train accident occurred in Trier on Thursday evening. According to initial investigations, a train hit a 48-year-old in the area of the railway depot and seriously injured his head, the federal police announced on Friday. The man later died in hospital as a result of the injury. “We are assuming a tragic accident,” said Trier Federal Police spokesman Stefan Döhn.
