Patrick Breyer sat for the pirates in the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein for several years. He headed the parliamentary group and was considered the chief investigator in the so-called rocker affair. Today he is the only German MEP for Pirates in Brussels. From his time in the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament, Breyer himself remembers scandals in which critical reporting by the NDR was prevented. The politician claims to have observed cases of controlled reporting at the NDR in Kiel himself.
