Mats Hummels is back in the starting eleven for Borussia Dortmund in the top game against FC Bayern Munich, but Joshua Kimmich is not for Bayern.
For Hummels, who was out in the previous two games because of a cold, none of the national defenders Nico Schlotterbeck and Niklas Süle had to be on the bench. Apparently coach Edin Terzic lets play with a chain of three.
“We want to show everyone, but most of all ourselves. You need possession of the ball to win this game,” Terzic said on Sky TV and Nagelsmann added: “Whether at home or here, these are always special games.”
BVB goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, who missed six games due to a torn muscle fiber, is on the bench like during the week in Seville. He’s probably not fully fit yet.
The same applies to Bayern’s leading player Kimmich, who is in the squad after surviving the corona infection, but not in the starting XI. It was already clear beforehand that Thomas Müller would be absent after his corona infection. Just like with BVB captain Marco Reus, who also has a cold in addition to his ligament injury.
