Personal training for $ 150,000: Arnold Schwarzenegger (75) auctioned off training sessions for a good cause over the weekend. At the famous “Gold’s Gym” in Venice Beach, two parties for the winning bid enjoyed a lesson from the film star and seven-time Mr. Olympia. The celebrity portal “tmz.com” reported on the campaign and also provided a video on which “Arnie” demonstrates the fitness equipment and cheers on the trainees.
In addition to the training sessions, the ex-California governor also auctioned off clothing, works of art and a ride in a tank. The auction raised a total of $1.75 million. Guest stars at the event were Schwarzenegger’s friends and companions Sylvester Stallone (76), Dolph Lundgren (64) and Danny DeVito (77). She and other visitors reportedly shelled out $50,000 for admission.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit After-School All-Stars (ASAS). The organization is committed to helping children from poor families with their homework. Arnold Schwarzenegger founded ASAS in 1991. The charity is now active in 60 American cities and looks after almost 100,000 students from underprivileged families.
Schwarzenegger was able to win colleagues such as Dwayne Johnson (50) and Jackie Chan (68) as ambassadors. In an interview, Arnold Schwarzenegger once compared schoolchildren to muscles: You have to train them every day in order for them to develop.
