Just as Duchess Meghan gushed about her and Prince Harry’s home in Montecito in “The Cut” interview, you’d think the couple would never want to move from there.
“We didn’t have work so we just didn’t want to look at the house. That wasn’t possible. It’s like when I was younger and window shopping – I don’t want to look at all the things I can’t afford Meghan told the magazine, gushed, “One of the first things my husband saw as we walked around the house was these two palm trees. See how they connect at the bottom? He said, ‘Honey, that are we.’ And now every day when Archie walks past them, he says, ‘Hi mom. Hi dad.'”
But recently there has been speculation that Meghan and Harry are considering moving. According to royal expert Tina Brown, one of the reasons for this could be money. “It’s a whole different game being with these super rich people. In Montecito, their $14 million mansion is a humble cottage compared to what these other people have,” she said at an event over the weekend.
According to estimates, the costs for security alone should amount to up to three million dollars. Protection they need as the Sussexes have made no secret of their home. Anyone who wants can find out where the villa is located. There have already been attempted break-ins in the past. Another reason to consider moving.
A new area where the Sussexes could find something is Hope Ranch. Just 15 minutes from Montecito, the area is considered very private – and slightly cheaper. According to “TMZ”, however, the residents there are not very enthusiastic about the prospect of soon living with the ex-royals. “Nobody at Hope Ranch holds a grudge against the Sussexes. But the fact of the matter is many fear they’ll bring a circus to their quiet, super-private suburb because they’re so famous and controversial,” a source from the neighborhood said. The streets are too narrow for the crowd of paparazzi that can definitely be expected.
One word of advice to the Sussexes themselves: no matter where they move, it’s better if they don’t talk about it. Not even when the palm trees in the front yard remind Prince Harry of himself and his wife.
