A wall of roses and a question in glowing letters: singer Pietro Lombardi and his partner Laura Maria Rypa are engaged. The Lombardis agency confirmed this on Monday – after the couple had already given their followers insights into the romantic ceremony on Instagram.

Laura “said yes I’m so happy indescribable…,” the 30-year-old musician wrote on his Insta story on Sunday, sharing a post from his partner with Ring. Visible in the background: A wall covered in red roses and the glowing lettering “Will you marry me?” (Will you marry me?). Laura, in turn, shared the post with the comment “I said yes”, a ring emoji and the date “10/30/2022”.

For the couple, this is an important step in what has been a very checkered relationship. The two had already announced in the summer that they would become parents of a son. “When love becomes life … After many turbulent times, the best time in our lives follows,” Pietro explained at the time.

The singer, usually wearing a cap, became known in 2011 as the winner of the eighth season of the RTL casting show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” (DSDS). In the new DSDS season, after 2019 and 2020, he will be at the DSDS jury for the third time. As a musician, Pietro was particularly successful with summer Latino hits – such as “Senorita” and “Phänomenal”.

His love life, however, was marked by some drastic events. During his DSDS participation in 2011, he met the singer Sarah Engels, who also took part in the talent show. In the final, Pietro prevailed against Sarah – but both became a couple. Marriage, child followed – and a separation associated with all kinds of background noise. The two have a son together named Alessio, who was born in 2015.

Ex-wife Sarah is now back in a new relationship. She had a daughter with her husband Julian at the end of 2021. Between Pietro and Laura Maria – an influencer – there had been some ups and downs. At times, the singer had also announced that he was single again. Now the two are obviously on cloud nine.
