The Frankonia fraternity is mentioned in the 2015 report by the Free State of Bavaria for the protection of the constitution in the section on right-wing extremism. The protection of the constitution justifies this with close contacts between the student fraternity and the NPD. In the liaison house there was a fair with right-wing extremist exhibitors and visitors, among the visitors was the former head of the banned military sports group Hoffmann, Karl-Heinz Hoffmann.

In the 2013 report by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for the protection of the constitution, the women’s association Courage, based in Wuppertal, is described as the so-called front organization of the left-wing extremist Marxist-Leninist Party of Germany (MLPD). In 2012, the organization was revoked its non-profit status.

The naming of both organizations in the reports for the protection of the constitution is not constitutionally objectionable, as the Federal Constitutional Court has now decided. The associated encroachment on their fundamental rights is justified.

In Bavaria, as in North Rhine-Westphalia, the laws provide for reports on anti-constitutional activities and efforts. That is the case in view of the trade fair and the contacts between the Frankonia fraternity and the NPD. The fact that the NPD is not banned is irrelevant.

It is similar with the women’s association Courage. For example, he gave a greeting at an MLPD election campaign event and had a stand at an anniversary celebration of the left-wing extremist party.
