Robert “Bob” McCarron (72), in the jungle camp universe only as Dr. Bob is known shortly after the premiere of the new season of “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” (Friday, January 13, 9:30 p.m. on RTL) can also be seen in its own TV show. In “Dr. Bob’s Australia” (Sunday, January 15, 8:15 p.m. on RTL or via RTL), the jungle camp doctor and darling of the public will show Western Australia to the reigning king of the jungle Filip Pavlović (28) and his predecessor Prince Damien (32).

The road trip, which is more than 4,000 kilometers long, offers travelers “in addition to Australian traditions and special features, also interesting background information and curious details from Down Under”. In 2020, McCarron showed ex-jungle queen Evelyn Burdecki (34) and jungle camp third-placed Thorsten Legat (54) the beautiful corners of Australia in “Dr. Bob’s Australia”.

Bob McCarron was born in London in 1950. In the 1970s he began his career in the Australian film business and made a name for himself as a special effects artist and make-up artist. Among other things, he was responsible for the effects of films such as “Mad Max II – The Enforcer” (1981) or the Oscar-winning film drama “The Piano” (1993). He was also on the special effects team on the hit sci-fi film The Matrix (1999).

McCarron was discovered for the jungle camp while working on “The Matrix”. He was hired as “Medical Bob” for the 2002 British original “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!” on. In 2004 he was used for the first time as “Dr. Bob” for the RTL jungle camp. As a paramedic, as a non-medical professional group in the field of emergency services is known in English, he has degrees in nursing and emergency medicine. According to RTL, he lives with his wife on a farm between Sydney and Canberra.

By the way, other formats are spinning around the jungle camp 2023, which will be broadcast live every day from the start. In “The ¼ hour before” the live stream on the social media accounts of “I’m a star – get me out of here!” chatted for 15 minutes about what was happening in the camp before the broadcast and showed an exclusive preview.

In “I’m a star – get me out of here! The hour after” (for the first time on Friday, January 13, 11:45 p.m. on RTL) there is daily post-processing of the jungle camp episode with Angela Finger-Erben (42) and Olivia Jones (53). On Monday, January 30th, the reunion of the jungle stars is also on “I’m a star – get me out of here! The big reunion” after the finale on January 29th.
