The well-known McLaren GT is being replaced by the new GTS. The additional letter in the product name means an increase in performance for the four liter V8 twin turbo by a small 11 kW / 15 to 466 kW / 635 hp. Thanks to the slight weight saving of ten kilograms to 1,520 kilograms, the new McLaren accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and breaks the 200 km/h mark in 8.9 seconds. The McLaren GTS is equipped with 39 centimeter brake discs on the front axle and 38 centimeter discs on the rear axle, which are made of carbon ceramic. With six-piston aluminum brake calipers at the front and four-piston brake calipers at the rear, the braking system offers the best deceleration values. From 100 km/h, the super athlete stops after 32 meters. The composite roof is made of recycled carbon fiber, which contributes to optimal vehicle performance while saving weight. What remains is the carbon fiber monocoque chassis and the lightweight construction philosophy for a symbiosis of comfort and sportiness.

In addition to the sharpened drive, this is ensured by, among other things, the adaptive chassis, carbon-ceramic brakes and improved standard equipment with details such as aniline leather seats. Visually, the McLaren GTS differs from its high-performance brothers with new exterior components finished in glossy black. The impressive appearance includes, among other things, a large rear diffuser and the double exhaust system – with the particularly impressive sound of a super sports car if desired. “The new McLaren GTS offers an unrivaled blend of McLaren driving dynamics and performance with refinement and practicality. If you want a true supercar driving experience, the GTS offers exactly that; “If you want to relax on a longer trip or with luggage for a weekend getaway, the GTS is an ideal companion,” explains Michael Leiters, CEO of McLaren Automotive.

Access to the 420 liter load space is via a front-hinged, full-length glass tailgate, which is electrically operated and has a soft-close function. The high level of everyday use is complemented by a 150 liter storage compartment in the front of the vehicle. The total cargo space of 570 liters makes the McLaren GTS one of the most practical super sports cars currently on the market.
