A residential area was attacked in Mariupol. It is a strategically important city at the border of Russia and Azov Sea. Three people were reported to have been killed by the mayor. A nearby anti-aircraft base was also hit, and the mayor stated that the runway at the airport was also damaged.

A blast from an apartment block in Kharkiv’s eastern city caused a shell to explode. One resident reported the incident and stated that a neighbor was hurt in his leg. The neighbour was taken by ambulance.
Bakhmut — There were military officers on the road just outside of the separatist-held areas. Also, there were large crowds queuing up at banks and gas stations to get away.

Russian forces captured Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the site of the worst nuclear accident in the world (Ukrainian presidential advisor).
A military plane collided in the Obukhiv region about 40 km (25 miles) from downtown Kyiv. The accident killed 14 people, but no casualties were determined. (Ukrainian emergencies ministry)
Air bombing of Tripilya’s electrical plant, 40kms (25miles) south of Kyiv in the exact same area as the crash site of the Ukrainian military plane (Ukrainian president’s office).
