Pavan Arora, Chief Commercial Officer, described the initiative as “employee-care,” and told the BBC that the company wanted to show appreciation for employees’ hard work during the pandemic.
Arora stated that 2020 was a difficult year for the entire industry. We went from the job market being on hold to going into overdrive. “Our staff has been on a journey — from going to remote work to hybrid back to distant… so we wanted to reach out to everyone and say thanks for the past two years.”
The pandemic has put workers in all industries to their limits. There is a lot of burnout and resignations.
One interesting solution to the problem is that some companies are now creative in encouraging employees to use their free time, The Wall Street Journal reported last ye.
For instance, Citigroup has offered companywide days off with the aim of getting everyone to take a break at the same time, and PricewaterhouseCoopers is offering U.S. staffers $250 for every full week of vacation booked, up to $1,000 a year.
