On Saturday a new edition of the Solo and A2 Crossing was held, a round trip coastal route between Gijón and a beacon located at the height of the beach of Spain.
The start took place in the vicinity of San Lorenzo beach at 12:35 pm with a northeasterly wind of 12 knots and practically flat seas. Therefore, the first leg of the route the fleet sailed with a headwind, to return to Gijón with a favorable wind of between 6 and 8 knots.
Excellent navigation of Fernando Alonso’s GS1, with his son Fernando as a crew member, who spent a time of two hours, thirty six minutes and six seconds to cross the finish line located at the entrance to the Gijón marina.
The second place went to the winner of the last edition, Pedro Guerra’s Ita II, which would arrive two minutes and thirteen minutes later than the GS1, once the time compensation had been made.
The Taxus MedioAmbiente, by Alfredo Flórez repeats the third position achieved last year, just 15 seconds behind the second classified.
On Sunday, the first day of the Snipe Summer Trophy, the two scheduled heats could not be held due to adverse weather conditions.
