Figure skating is a favorite sport in America. Experts tell us that this is what they have found. We fall in love with small people on skates every four years during Winter Olympics.
Let’s stop laughing at Alex DeBrincat.
We asked our respondents to choose their favorite Olympic sport from figure skating, speed skating, speed skating, alpine skiing and snowboarding. Guess what?
Figure skating finished last.
Also, commenters totally blew off the question.
“No curling option?” Weak,” @Err_ick offered.
@irishclover1952 shared, “Actually bobsledding & luge are what always look forward to,”
@recon5961 wrote “Hockey”
You are a group of rabble-rousers. We love you for it.
We also asked you which of the following sports you would be most afraid to attempt: luge (skeleton), ski jumping, freestyle skiing aerials, or ski jumping. (Hint, there’s no wrong answer. We also asked about the NFL Pro Bowl. This is where we will once again have to decide whether or not we give cow’s hide. (Hint: We don’t.)
Summary:Alpine skiers get the nod. It makes sense considering an event like the downhill, where there are no two runs the same and competitors building speeds that would make them pull over by Dan Ryan. What stars Shaun White and Michelle Kwan were and still are? OK, Lindsey Vonn, Mikaela Shiffrin and Bode Miller.
The people have spoken. Just know that there are people who would rather ski jump into an alligator-filled pool than to strap onto a tiny 4-foot sled and race down an icy track headfirst, feet first, or any other way. Hello, even the name “skeleton”, implies that something horrible is on the horizon.
Summary:No one cares what happens in this game. Don’t let anyone get hurt out there, guys. @calenash2210 said it best: “I’m going assume the 5% who said “keen” don’t really know what that word means.”
