LAWRENCE (Kansas) — Henry Colombi ran for one and threw for another touchdown as Texas Tech scored four touchdowns on the ground in a 41-14 victory over Kansas.

Colombi went 14-for-20 passing for 124 yard and added 35 rushing yards. Jason Bean was 11 for 21 passing for 80 yards with one interception for Kansas.

Colombi stated, “It was important for us all to come out and execute today. We did it on both ends of the ball.” “Every position played well today, and I believe we spread the ball around.”

Texas Tech (5-2 Big 12 Conference, 2-2 Big 12 Conference), had three rushing touchdowns by Colombi Erik Ezukanma Myles Price and Colombi to lead 24-0 at the halftime. Donovan Smith also added a third quarter rushing touchdown.

Matt Wells, Texas Tech head coach, said that he was proud of his players for taking the game on the road and being disciplined. “I believe the key to success was being quick and jumping out. Both sides played well.”

This matchup was decided by six points in the past two seasons. Texas Tech proved this year that there is still a significant difference between the two programs. Kansas was held to just 20 passing yards by the Raiders and four first downs by Texas Tech in the first half.

Texas Tech ran for 438 yards, with 244 coming on the ground. Sarodorick Thompson ran for 83 yards and Ezukanma had 76 receiving yards.

Jayhawks (0-3) Luke Grimm had 33 receiving yard and a touchdown for the Jayhawks (1-5, 0, 0-3) and Devin Neal ran 54 yards.

Red Raiders did a fantastic job on third downs, going 9-for-11 and holding Kansas to 5-for-13. They were also perfect at 6-for-6 in red zone, while Kansas was 2-for-2.
