After winning the monobob, Laura Nolte also won the two-man bobsleigh on her home track in Winterberg.
With brakewoman Neele Schuten, the two-man bobsleigh champion from Beijing won the German triple success with a lead of 0.35 seconds ahead of Lisa Buckwitz from BRC Thüringen, who rode with brakewoman Kira Lipperheide. Third place went to Kim Kalicki from Wiesbaden with Leonie Fiebig.
“It’s really cool that so many people are here and creating a good atmosphere,” said Nolte, who recently clinched her first win of the season in two-man bobsleigh after two second places. With a view to the World Championships in St. Moritz at the end of January, she said: “The cards will be reshuffled. That was a nice weekend for us, but we shouldn’t rest on our laurels. And in St. Moritz, apart from the junior never won the World Cup.”
In the finish area, she immediately hugged her Olympic brakewoman Deborah Levi, who was sitting in a wheelchair after knee surgery following the teammates’ triple success. In the overall World Cup, Kalicki continues to lead, Nolte improved to second place ahead of Kaillie Humphries from the USA.
