The German hockey men have again reached the World Cup quarterfinals and can still hope for their first title win since 2006.

On Monday, national coach Andre Henning’s team, second in group B in the title fights in India, defeated France in a “crossover” game easily and confidently 5-1 (4-0) and thus made it into the round of the last eight teams. There the DHB selection meets England on Wednesday (2.30 p.m. / DAZN).

Marco Miltkau (14th minute), Niklas Wellen (18th), Mats Grambusch (23rd), Moritz Trompertz (24th) and Gonzalo Peillat (59th) scored the goals for the two-time world champion against the third in Group A. The French only managed to get the first goal through Francois Goyet (57th). The German team remained undefeated in the fourth game of the tournament.
