Ms. Künzer, your recently published book is entitled “Why women play better football”. Directly asked: why? The title is a bit provocative, I’ll admit that. That was meant with a wink.
On the cover, on which you and your co-author Bernd Schmelzer can be seen, no one winks.Anyone who reads the book knows what we mean by that.
So why is women’s football better? Where do you think the women are ahead of the men? Women’s football is more approachable and less aloof. The atmosphere in the stadiums is less aggressive and the pitch is friendlier too. There are fewer game interruptions, fewer arguments and discussions.
