According to a report in the “Bild” newspaper, those responsible at FC Bayern Munich negotiated directly with Tottenham Hotspur in the transfer poker for desired striker Harry Kane. At the meeting in London, Tottenham boss Daniel Levy (61), who is considered a stubborn negotiating partner, was also present.
According to “Bild”, there hasn’t been a breakthrough yet, but the Bayern delegation is still optimistic that the deal worth millions can be completed this summer. The British “Sun” also reported on the meeting.
Kane (29) is the German record champion’s preferred candidate for the center forward position, which has not been optimally filled since Robert Lewandowski left last year. Most recently, Munich is said to have offered 80 million euros plus bonus payments in a second attempt after they are said to have been turned down with an initial offer of 70 million euros. Munich would reportedly have to pay at least €100m for Levy to give in.
Kane is said to have canceled PSG
Kane is said to have recently canceled the French series champion Paris Saint-Germain, who had also entered the transfer poker, through his advisors. The captain of the English national team, whose contract with Spurs still runs for a year, is said to only want to play for Bayern if he is engaged abroad.
Kane started training at Tottenham on Wednesday and is expected to travel with him on the Premier League club’s almost two-week Pacific tour from Friday.
