World footballer Karim Benzema’s move to Saudi Arabia is official. “Welcome to Ittihad,” wrote his new club on Twitter. “I’m looking forward to seeing you in Jeddah,” said the 35-year-old in a video published by the club in Arabic.

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano announced on Monday that the deal was perfect. The Frenchman’s contract is set to run until 2025. The media had previously reported that Al-Ittihad was paying the exceptional striker 100 million euros per season.

Benzema, who officially said goodbye to Real Madrid after 14 years, is the next superstar to move to the controversial kingdom after former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo (38). In terms of sport, the Saudi Pro League is second-rate at best.
