The move from Konstantinos Mavropanos from Bundesliga soccer club VfB Stuttgart to English Conference League winners West Ham United is fixed. The Greek has signed a five-year deal, the Premier League club said.

The transfer had been apparent for several days. According to media reports, the transfer fee for the national player is around 20 million euros and can increase with possible bonus payments.

Mavropanos played for Arsenal FC in England between 2018 and 2020. After Wataru Endo, he is the second top performer that the Stuttgart team has lost in a short period of time. The Japanese Endo moved to Liverpool FC last week.

Schweizer Stergiou will be his successor

The Swabians had previously announced the signing of Leonidas Stergiou. The Swiss U21 international comes on loan from FC St. Gallen for a season. The Stuttgarters should then have a purchase option.

“We have been following Leonidas Stergiou’s development for a long time. He has already gained valuable experience in the Swiss Super League and as a Swiss U21 international,” said VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth. Stergiou said: “It feels incredibly good and it’s very nice to be able to sign a contract with a club like VfB Stuttgart. I’m very happy that it worked out.”
