According to a media report, English national soccer striker Harry Kane has ruled out a contract extension at Tottenham Hotspur and is still aiming for a move to Bayern Munich.
The 29-year-old has no intention of extending his contract with the Premier League club, which expires next year, wrote the English newspaper “The Times”. After the failed transfer to Manchester City in 2021, he would not try to force a move to Munich.
Mané before change
Meanwhile, offensive player Sadio Mané is about to leave Bayern after just one year. The 31-year-old Senegalese has decided to move to the Saudi club Al-Nassr, wrote the French newspaper “L’Équipe”. Several media had previously reported that superstar Cristiano Ronaldo’s club was interested in the 31-year-old. Mané came to Munich with great expectations last year, but played a completely disappointing season.
In poker for Kane, Bayern still have to come to an agreement with his previous club. According to media reports, the Spurs had recently rejected two offers from the German record champions, the most recent being over 80 million euros plus bonus payments. The Times wrote that the Premier League club is asking for a fee of £100m (€115m) for its top striker, ideally as a base amount.
Until recently, the club had hoped to be able to persuade its record scorer to extend his contract. “I hope to be able to work with Harry for a long time. He’s still at the club at the moment,” said coach Ange Postecoglou recently, describing the attacker as a Tottenham legend. “If he retired today, a statue would probably be built for him anyway.”
