Daniil Medvedev has reached the final for the first time at the Masters tournament in Miami. In the semifinals, the 27-year-old Russian won 7: 6 (7: 5), 3: 6, 6: 3 against his compatriot Karen Khachanov.

For Medvedev, current number five in the world tennis rankings, it was the 23rd win in the past 24 games. Most recently, he only lost out to Carlos Alcaraz in the Indian Wells final two weeks ago.

The 19-year-old from Spain could again be an opponent of Medvedev on Sunday. Alcaraz meets Jannik Sinner from Italy on Saturday night. Alcaraz, who has won 18 of his 19 games this year, needs to defend his title in Florida to remain at the top of the world rankings.
