Daniel Altmaier continued his winning streak at the ATP tournament in Madrid and reached the quarterfinals for the first time at a Masters 1000 event.
The 24-year-old from Kempen defeated the injured Spaniard Jaume Munar 6:3, 6:0 in 85 minutes. In the round of the top eight, Altmaier now meets the winner of the game between Alejandro Davidovich Fokina from Spain and Croatian Borna Coric.
