Ski racer Wendy Holdener from Switzerland and Anna Swenn Larsson from Sweden have won the first World Cup of their alpine careers. Both crossed the finish line in the slalom in Killington after exactly the same time and shared first place.
Austria’s Katharina Truppe was third. US star Mikaela Shiffrin, who was still leading after the first round, finished fifth.
Germany’s best slalom skier Lena Dürr, who started the winter last weekend with two fourth places, had to settle for 28th place after a mistake in the second round. The Upper Bavarian slipped on the increasingly soft slope and lost several seconds. After the first run, Dürr was sixth.
As another starter of the German Ski Association, Andrea Filser finished 27th in the points. Marlene Schmotz, Emma Aicher and Jessica Hilzinger missed the final of the top 30.
