German national ice hockey player Tim Stützle scored his seventh goal of the season in the NHL in the Ottawa Senators’ 5-1 away win over the Anaheim Ducks.
The Senators got their first win in the North American ice hockey league after three losses. In the middle of the second period, Stützle scored in the majority game to make it 3-0.
Moritz Seider and the Detroit Red Wings won 4-3 after a penalty shootout against the Arizona Coyotes. The Red Wings are unbeaten in four games. Philipp Grubauer drove the Seattle Kraken to a 4-2 away win at the Vegas Golden Knights. The goalkeeper saved 22 of the 24 shots on his goal on his 31st birthday. JJ Peterka’s Buffalo Sabers lost 3-1 at home to the New Jersey Devils. The guests were victorious in their ninth away game in a row.
The Boston Bruins set an NHL record in their 3-2 home win after overtime against the Carolina Hurricanes, winning their first 12 home games this season. The Chicago Blackhawks (1963/64) and Florida Panthers (2021/22) had held the previous record with eleven home wins at the start.
The game between the Nashville Predators and the Colorado Avalanche had to be canceled after a burst water pipe flooded parts of the Nashville arena. The Predators’ home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets also has to be postponed.
