Football superstar Patrick Mahomes can easily imagine returning to Germany soon after the NFL premiere in Frankfurt.
“The fans were loud and passionate. They understand the game. It was great for the NFL to give us this opportunity. I would be happy to play here again,” said the 28-year-old after his Kansas lost 21:14 City Chiefs vs. Miami Dolphins. Mahomes played a big role in the success in the big game with two touchdown passes in the first half.
“It was super cool to be here”
The game in front of 50,023 spectators in the Frankfurt Arena became a football festival, with most supporters dressed in the red colors of the Chiefs. “It was super cool to be here. The whole experience. Everyone was excited. I want to come back,” Mahomes said. The game felt like a home game, added the star player.
That’s how his coach Andy Reid saw it, whose team won this time primarily because of their strong defense. “It was very loud. It didn’t matter whether the fans were from Germany or Kansas. It was loud and aggressive. We felt that and we are grateful for it,” said Reid after the seventh win from the ninth league game.
Next Sunday (3:30 p.m./DAZN and RTL) there will be another season game in the best football league in the world in Frankfurt. Then the former champion New England Patriots take on the Indianapolis Colts.
