The Orlando Magic around the German brothers Franz and Moritz Wagner have continued their good start to the season in the NBA. The Magic clearly won 120:101 (67:51) against the Los Angeles Lakers in the North American Basketball League.
Franz Wagner was his team’s top scorer with 26 points, while Moritz Wagner contributed 13 points and eight rebounds off the bench to the Magic’s fourth win in the sixth game of the season.
Orlando laid the foundation in the first quarter (39:25), and in the meantime the team from Florida scored 13 points in a row. Due to several absences, the Lakers relied on a mini rotation with eight players around superstars LeBron James (24 points) and Anthony Davis (28 points, 13 rebounds, 7 blocks) for a long time.
Celtics continue without defeat
The Magic trail only the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference, all of whom also won on Saturday. After a 124-114 win at the Brooklyn Nets, Boston is the only team in the league without a loss early in the season. The Western Conference is led by the current NBA champion Denver Nuggets around superstar Nikola Jokic, who once again shone with 33 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists in the 123:101 win against the Chicago Bulls.
Meanwhile, world champion Daniel Theis is still waiting for his first appearance of the season. In his Indiana Pacers’ narrow 124:125 win against the Charlotte Hornets, the German center remained on the bench the entire game, as he did in the first five games of the season.
