Thanks to Luka Doncic, the Dallas Mavericks clinched their seventh win in the ninth NBA game of the season. With 44 points, the superstar led the Texans to a 144:126 (77:51) home win over the Los Angeles Clippers. For the second time this season, Doncic broke the 40-point mark in a game.

Doncic hit an excellent 17 of his 21 throws from the field. Things went well offensively for the Texans, especially in the second quarter, which they dominated 47:18. There the Mavericks pulled away with a 33:4 run. German basketball national player Maxi Kleber was again missing from Dallas due to a toe injury. The Clippers also lost their third game since signing superstar James Harden.

The win against the Clippers counts twice for the Mavericks: The NBA games on Friday (local time) count not only for the main round, but also for the new tournament format introduced this season. In this, the 30 teams have been divided into six groups, and a winner will be determined in a knockout mode at the beginning of December. The NBA hopes this tournament will increase the excitement during the regular season.

James with 32 points in Lakers win

LeBron James led the Los Angeles Lakers to a 122:119 (55:63) away win over the Phoenix Suns. The 38-year-old superstar shone with 32 points, eleven rebounds and six assists. With an 11-0 start to the fourth quarter, the Lakers turned the game around to claim their fourth win of the season. Kevin Durant scored 38 points for the Suns.

The Philadelphia 76ers remain the team with the best form in the North American professional basketball league: With 114:106 (48:56), the Sixers prevailed over the Detroit Pistons and are therefore unbeaten in seven games. Joel Embiid (33 points, 16 rebounds) and Tyrese Maxey (29 points, 11 assists) each recorded a double-double. Philadelphia recently traded dissatisfied superstar James Harden in a player swap.
