Faroe islands national football team will now be headed by the swede Håkan Ericson.
The 59-year-old Swedish football coach Håkan Ericson, the man becomes, successor to Lars Olsen as coach of the Faroe islands.
The experienced trainer has received a contract for four years.
Ericson has not been in many prominent addresses as a coach, but he was from 2011 to 2017 in the lead for Sweden’s U21-national team. It was also him, who managed the Swedish national team at the OLYMPIC games in 2016.
It was Ericson that led the Swedish U21 national team to a surprising european championship triumph in 2015, where Denmark was abolished in the semifinals.
the Faroe islands are currently number 110 on The International Football associations (Fifa) world ranking.
At the end of september announced the former Danish european champion Lars Olsen, that he wanted to try something new after eight years as national coach for the Faroe islands.
A month later, he was employed in the Danish superliga club Esbjerg.
