The Formula 1 team Haas around German driver Nico Hülkenberg failed with a protest against the classification of the Australian Grand Prix. This emerges from a document published by the world motorsport association Fia.

The decision was delayed for a long time and was only published around five hours after the end of the race. The Grand Prix result thus remains unchanged.

The US racing team took action against the classification because Hülkenberg was in fourth place before the last race interruption in Melbourne due to the third red flag. However, after a chaotic last lap after a restart with several accidents, the race management decided to evaluate the Grand Prix with the status before the last red flag. After this rating, the 35-year-old Hülkenberg was seventh. This is the result now.
