Erik Defends see a FC Midtjylland team that is growing and growing, despite lots of young players.
Eight wins in a row means that FC Midtjylland has put himself firmly in first place in the 3F League with 50 points after 19 matches.
the FCM, who on Sunday won 2-1 over Bolton, has a lead of seven points down to FC Copenhagen.
Vinderstimen and Sunday’s victory over Brøndby awakens the joy of captain Erik Defends.
– We are fully up and running, but we are also humble. We must be humble, because things do not come by themselves. We have worked insanely hard to get to this point, says FCM-captain.
the FCM has a points of 2.63, but it must not become a crutch in the last match at home against AGF.
– A cut of over 2.6 is overwhelming, but it commits the also. And therefore, we must work hard.
– On Sunday we play the last match against AGF, and we need to be there again. We must have three points in every match, says Defends.
the Stopper has been to win CHAMPIONSHIPS-gold with a more experienced FCM-crew, but this time there are many young talents on the team.
– It is a much younger team, we smoked about three years down the average, so on the way, it is a different team to work with.
– It is young and ambitious players – seasoned with some experienced players. They are mega hungry, and the good and the positive energy rubs off at all, says 28-year-old Defends.
the 24-year-old Emiliano Marcondes is one of the new players this season.
He has come from Brentford on a short lease and stands to make his final FCM-match against AGF, as it looks right now.
– It is really a winning mentality, which is quite unusual, and I haven’t experienced before. It is a bit extreme, ” says Marcondes.
He keeps a week’s holiday after the AGF-match and then takes back to Brentford, but he still don’t know where he ends up in the new year.
– It can easily happen that I return to the FCM, and I am not at all dismissive of. There is a transfervindue, which is open in a month. And that anything can happen.
– Although I’m starting to score goals in the Brentford and play fast, so it may still be that I come back to FCM, because I think it is really cool.
– I can better sense what I want, when I’m over there. So can I make, what my role in Brentford’s going to be, ” says Marcondes.
the FCM-coach Brian Priske would like to hold on to all of its current players in the squad – also Marcondes.
– I am pragmatic landscaped. As a starting point, I would really like to work on with these boys. We have so many good things.
– But get the right bids for the right to play, so it may be we sell. The time, the joy or sorrow.
We have fortunately come into a position where our economy is in a very good condition, and the club can go a long way towards ask for the money, as it will be for the individual player, ” says Priske.
