Less than 61 hours, FC Copenhagen had from lifting arms after a 1-0 victory in Switzerland of Lugano to stand ready in the tunnel at Telia Park before the match against Brøndby.
With a start time at 11.45 it’s probably only the most dedicated beer enthusiasts, there when to burp at a little mouthwatering hops, while the rest of the expected full stadium can lick mælkeskummet from the latten of the upper lip.
IN FC Copenhagen has started preparations for the early derby already on Thursday evening in St. Gallen.
Here is the FCK-the program in outline:
Thursday: Slutfløjt of St. Gallen, ca. 22.50. Then the dressing and interviews in an hour, in the nthe return to the Hotel Oberwaid, where players must have a meal around midnight. Friday: Breakfast at the Hotel Oberwaid St. Gallen. Then the bus ride of a little over an hour to the airport in Zurich, from which I am facilitating at 11: 00. FCK-bus takes the players directly to Jens Jessens Vej, where they train at 14: 00. Then the players receive treatment and are sent home with a meal prepared Betkanyon by FCK’s own chefs. It is not customary. the Saturday: FCK coach 11.45 in Telia the Park, and from there the tour goes directly on the hotel for the players, which is not the norm in Superliga matches. the Sunday: FCK-players need to get up early to eat breakfast at. 7.45. Then, the tour goes to the Telia Parken, where there is the kick-off 11.45.
It has been a somewhat atypical application of FC Copenhagen, who also could not fly home to Denmark directly after the match in St. Gallen, which is usually after the european games.
And the odd prelude has been taken into account at copenhagen, where FC Copenhagen manager Stale Solbakken can’t resist to send one of its small suppositories set off with a bold smile.
“We are prepared for everything. We are prepared, to Phil Thomsen (Divisionsforeningens director, Claus Thomsen, eds.) call me and say they have pushed pokalkampen against AaB forward to Saturday, so we play it in the Park there,” says Stale Solbakken.
He is in other words not a big fan of the short winding for the important match against Brøndby. And among the players it is also a kampoptakt, as they see the way with excitement.
“It is not easy. There are only a few hours to relax in. You can imagine how difficult it is, but we must fight through the tiredness and get to the fight in a better edition.”
“Maybe it can be challenging for us at the end of the fight, but I hope that we are in a good situation in the fight at the time and in control. It will be a good and difficult game,” said FCK-captain Carlos Zeca.
FC Copenhagen is in derby six points ahead of Brøndby, but the copenhageners are lagging behind FC Midtjylland, which at the top has seven points more.
