It could be an incomparable week for coach Xabi Alonso’s team. On Saturday, Leverkusen lifted the championship trophy as undefeated league leaders. Two more titles could follow in the next four days.
The Europa League final will take place in Dublin on Wednesday evening. The match kicks off at 9 p.m. at the Aviva Stadium. The Romanian referee Istvan Kovac will take charge of the final.
The Europa League final will be broadcast live and exclusively by RTL. Moderator Laura Papendick and expert Lothar Matthäus will be leading through the preliminary reporting from 8:15 p.m. The game is commented on by Marco Hagemann and Steffen Freund.
In parallel to the broadcast on free TV, RTL offers a live stream on the in-house streaming platform RTL. However, this is subject to a fee.
Leverkusen goes into the final as favorites, but Atalanta Bergamo can also look back on a successful season. Only two of the last ten games were lost. The league secured early qualification for the Champions League next year. The team from northern Italy also reached the final of the Coppa Italia, but lost 1-0 to Juventus Turin.
It is the third meeting between the two clubs in European Cup history. So far the Italians have had a lot more to laugh about. In the 2021/22 season, Bergamo won the first leg of the round of 16 of the Europa League 3-2. In the second leg they won 1-0 in Leverkusen.
