Karl-Heinz Rummenigge warned against PSG attacker Kylian Mbappé before FC Bayern Munich’s Champions League second leg against Paris Saint-Germain.

“At the moment he’s the best player. He has incredible speed. What’s special is his progress, his movement from a standing start,” said the long-standing Munich CEO (67) to the pay-for Internet broadcaster DAZN and compared Mbappé to Bayern professional Kingsley Coman: “They can start from a standing start and the defender has no way of stopping them”.

The knockout round in the premier class will take place this Wednesday (9 p.m. / DAZN) in the Allianz Arena. Munich had won the first leg in the Prinzenpark 1-0, although PSG turned up the heat after Mbappé was substituted on. “Now all of a sudden the messiah is coming onto the pitch, giving them self-confidence and making it clear through individual actions that he’s an exceptional player,” said Rummenigge about the French team’s improvement in performance.
