Jadon Sancho was particularly happy about the assist for his friend Marco Reus during his successful comeback for Borussia Dortmund.

“It should happen like this: I come back and see Marco again. He is a great friend of mine,” said the 23-year-old on Sky Sports News after BVB’s 3-0 win at SV Darmstadt 98 in the Bundesliga. “I’m happy to have set up a goal for him.”

Sancho came on as a substitute for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens in the 55th minute, at the same time as Reus. 22 minutes later, the Englishman provided the assist, which Reus used to make it 2-0. “Since I’ve been back, it feels like home. I’m happy to be back on the pitch,” said Sancho about his return.

“I want to be happy again”

Sancho has returned to BVB on loan from Manchester United until the summer. He had already played for Dortmund from 2017 to 2021. He then moved to the Premier League for 85 million euros. Recently, however, he was no longer able to play at Manchester.

“I want to be happy again, be on the pitch again and help the team,” said Sancho about his goals at BVB. “I want to help the team qualify for the Champions League again.” Dortmund is three points behind fourth-placed RB Leipzig.
